“Come Home”: Eva Mendes Tells Ryan Gosling “To Put The Kids To Bed” After Oscars Performance

Ryan Gosling may be Hollywood’s favorite real-life Ken doll, but at home, he’s got a to-do list that comes with his role of being a loving husband to Eva Mendes and a doting father to his two daughters.

On Sunday’s 96th annual Academy Awards, Ryan took to the stage and delivered an electrifying performance of “I’m Just Ken,” the hit track that was nominated for Best Original Song along with seven other nominations for the Barbie movie.

Ryan left the audience in awe as he belted the song in a sparkly pink suit and sunglasses. Mark Ronson and fellow Kens Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans, and Ncuti Gatwa were also alongside him on stage during the stellar performance.

At the end of the night, Ryan was summoned to return back home by Eva Mendes, the actor’s partner of many years and mother to their two daughters, Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 7.

Eva took to Instagram with a playful yet poignant reminder of the real-world responsibilities that even Ken cannot escape. With her donning a pink blazer and a black cowboy hat, Eva’s post appeared to be a loving nudge to Ryan with the caption, “You took Ken all the way to the Oscar’s, RG. Now come home, we need to put the kids to bed.”

Fans were delighted to see the endearing moment on Instagram.

“You two are the COOLEST…truly,” one fan said, while another added, “You’re the biggest winner of the night tbh!”

One fan gushed, “He killed it! you can feel the kenergy thru the tv screen.”

“His musical performance was the highlight of the show,” said another comment.

A third said, “Absolutely brought the house down! Love your love.”

For all the Kenergy Ryan brought onscreen in the Barbie film, he was nominated for the role of Best Supporting Actor at the 2024 Oscars. But the award went to Robert Downey Jr. for his widely acclaimed performance in Oppenheimer.
